Just in time for what promises to be the best summer ever, we’re introducing a whole new collection of homes available at The Orchards.
Taking inspiration from the interiors and lifestyles of southern California, The Orchards is now home to our Cali collection. These homes sit on more shallow lots, which means less maintenance and includes landscaping and fencing, and beautiful bright interiors that maximize space in all directions – including vertical!
Unique Features in the Cali Collection
Named after some of the most desirable areas along the Pacific Coast Highway (Laguna and Newport), these homes feature up to 1,859 square-feet of interior living space with a front attached garage, elevated front balcony, and multi-story layout that makes the most of every inch of living space.
The ground level of the home provides space for the two-car garage, mud room, and mechanical room. Instead of a basement, the ground floor acts as a storage and mechanical space while the second and third floors provide the living space.
Inspiration from California
While this layout is highly unconventional for Edmonton, it’s fairly common for homes in California. The idea around homes in this area tends to be about ease of living – keeping home maintenance down to a minimum!
The generous square-footage inside complements the lot outside by ensuring life inside your home isn’t impacted by what’s happening outside. When designing these homes, we thought about who would benefit most from a lifestyle with minimal home maintenance. We thought about professional couples with a jet setting lifestyle who are still looking for a home base where they can entertain and have guests stay.
We also thought about busy families with older kids who spend more time with their sports teams and clubs than they would in their back yard. Lastly, we also imagined couples whose children have moved out or have chosen to live without children but still want a spacious home that can accommodate entertaining and guests.
